A rather rare ore located within the Azure Caverns. It has proven to be a very viable element for tools, and even was a popular material for armor in the Anura Lands. Before Gold was the icon for King Midas and his kingdom, Mithril served as “The King’s Metal”. Mithril is not at all comparable to gold, and outclasses it in every way, but tales suggest that Midas was greedy and craved all of the world’s riches.

Overview[]

Mithril is a rare ore added in the January Update. It is found in the lapis layer, between 1700m and 2000m, more commonly found around 1850m. It is pretty strong and takes a long time to mine, longer than Azure but not as much as Serendibite. The player must be at least Wizard rank or equip the Platinum Pickaxe to mine it, and awards 40,000 XP when mined.

Uses[]

Base Stations[]

A total of 185 Mithril is required for upgrading Mining Operation and the Marketplace.

  • Mining Operation level 19: 50 Mithril
  • Mining Operation level 27: 100 Mithril
  • Marketplace level 9: 35 Mithril

Crafts[]

Mithril can be crafted into its own pickaxe, requiring 30 Mithril and 50 Serendibite.

Tips[]

  • Strip-Mining at 1850m would be the best place to farm Mithril as it is quite common there. It is also a very good place to farm for Baryte, Azure and Copper too.
  • You generally find at least one Mithril per cave within the spawning range, so it is a good idea to search caves in order to get more of the ore faster.

Trivia[]

  • Mithril is a ficticious mineral created by the british writer J. R. R. Tolkien for his book The Lord of the Rings. The term was then conceptualized into all kinds of fantasy tales, movies, and videogames. The name "mithril" is derived from two words in Tolkien's sindarin language, "mith" and "ril", meaning "grey" and "glitter" respectively.
