Overview[]
Torches are craftable and placeable items in Azure Mines that emit light that makes it easier to see underground. Torches are essential for really low depths when you can barely see even with the lantern. There are four types of torches:
Torch[]
The Torch has an easy recipe making it easier to obtain but not as bright as Uranium Stick. It is very cheap to make, costing only a single coal. It can light up to 2 blocks when under 300m
Uranium Stick[]
The Uranium Stick emits a green light and can only be placed below 100 meters. Uranium Stick is far brighter than the regular Torch. It requires 1 Uranium and 2 Iron to craft. This torch can light up to 5 blocks when under 300m
Glass Candle []
The Glass Candle emits a purple light. The candle is the brightest of the three torches, but also the hardest to obtain. It requires 3 Dragonglass to craft. This torch can light up to 7 blocks when under 300m
Plutonium Torch[]
The Plutonium Torch emits a bright yellowish light. It has the same brightness as the Uranium Stick. It requires 2 Iron and 1 Plutonium to craft. This torch can light up to 5 blocks when under 300m
Trivia[]
- There used to be an item called Tombstone that was added in the Renovation Update, which acted like a light source. However as of the Newtonium Update, it has since been removed from crafting.
- Torches, Uranium Sticks, and Glass Candles can only be spawned naturally inside a zombie cave. Torches can be spawned above 600 blocks. Uranium Stick can be spawned between 601 to 1000. Glass Candle can be spawned at 1,000 and below.
- Plutonium Torches do not spawn naturally.
- The Plutonium Torch is as bright as the Uranium Stick and is easier to obtain than the Uranium Stick, as Plutonium is more common and is worth less than Uranium, making the Plutonium Torch more worthwhile to craft than the Uranium Stick.
- Glass candle can be used to troll. Placing many in a singular spot can blast all players with a bright white light that comes from the combined glow of every candle.
