A common ore used for all sorts of electrical circuits, as it is a great conductor. Even other civilizations utilize its excellent electrical benefits. Even the army for the D.U.C wields blades made of pure copper, letting it surge with electricity, making it both very efficient and shocking. Though this property isn’t useful in pickaxes given its weakness.

Overview[]

Copper is one of the most useful ores in the game. It's required in every Data & Analysis upgrade, making it sought after by both early and end-game players.

It is uncommon in the first 2 layers (Stone and Slate) then as common as Iron in the 3rd layer (Lapis). Because of this, it is best found around 1,950m, especially in caves around said depth.

Uses[]

Upgrades[]

14,570 Copper in total is required for upgrading, all of it being needed for upgrading Data & Analysis except for 100 for the final Mining Operation.

Crafts[]

The only pickaxe that requires Copper is the Gold Pickaxe requiring a total of 15 Copper for it. It can additionally be used to craft 2 types of placeable blocks. Copper Plate and Ladder Brick

Trivia[]

  • In real life, Copper is a reddish-brown transition metal with the symbol Cu and atomic number 29 on the Periodic Table of the Elements. Most copper is used in electrical equipment like wires. About 0.000006% of the universe is made out of copper. Copper is concentrated at 67 parts per million (ppm) in the Earth's crust.
  • Because Copper is harder to find in upper layers than in deeper layers and its importance in early-game base upgrades, it is considered one of the rarest common ores for newer players, especially because it spawns most commonly at 1950m, which requires a lot of copper to even get to the depth.
